Alright, let me tell y’all about my first time making orgonite. It all started around March of 2022, one of my favorite clients wanted to gift his seven-year-old nephew an emerald for his birthday. I didn't have any on hand at the time, so I had to purchase some from overseas. Not just any emerald, though. It had to be on the light green side of color and I promised to find some that weren't fake or man-made. As I was looking for a nice chunk of uncut, genuine emerald, I noticed that the price of this gemstone can get pretty steep. The higher the quality, clarity, and weight, the more expensive it became.

So cute and tiny! (^_^)
Based on my client's budget, grabbing a low-grade, 5.4-carat natural emerald stone would do the trick. (Was still a bit pricey, though tbh) When the package arrived, I was shocked at how beautiful and tiny it was. In my mind, this would make an excellent engagement ring or something fancy like that. I didn't know what to do with it. The emerald was too smooth and small for me to wire wrap it because of my limited skill and resources at the time. I was all like, "Bro, are you sure you want to give something like this to a seven-year-old?" No doubt he was. With no turning back, I accepted the challenge.

I usually put small stones in glass bottles for necklaces as seen above. However, glass breaks, and tiny things can get lost easily. Plus, I had no clue just how physically active his nephew would be when wearing it. Perhaps he was an athlete protégé or a martial artist in his spare time? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Therefore, I had to make it durable while increasing its size a bit so that if it did fall off from around his neck and hit the ground, it wouldn't shatter into tiny hazardous shards and be super hard to find. All I had at the time was epoxy resin. The resin was the solution. The problem was how exactly would I get it done. Dipping the bottle in resin didn't seem fitting. So, I did some research to find out how casting gems in resin would impact its energy. That's when I stumbled upon Orgonite.

What Is Orgonite and How Does It Work?
Back in the early 1940s, a dude named Wilhelm Reich discovered currents of a mysterious life force and called it "orgone". To harness orgone energy, he made a wooden box of wire wool and sheep's wool to absorb and trap it inside called the "orgone accumulator". Many years later, Karl Hans Welz made a variation on the technology of Wilhelm Reich and called it "Orgonite". Karl and Don Croft added crystals to the recipe to help convert/polarize the harmful dead orgone energy (DOR) into positive orgone (POR). These days, Orgonite is used as a type of healing device that balances and harmonizes the body's energy field and is typically made of a mixture of metal shavings, epoxy resin, crystals, and various organic materials to convert orgone energies. With this information in mind, I confidently created an emerald orgonite pendant for my client. Shout out to @Madd Prophet for allowing me to make it for the young'un!
