Alright, let me tell y’all about my first time getting tumbled moonstones. I had no idea what to expect as a rookie crystal collector. I imagined they would all be milky-white in color. Nope! The specimens I received had cloudlike rays running through them in various shades of browns, tans, and pinks. Their shape and appearance fascinated me. I had to make a wired necklace out of at least one. I grabbed a stone and wrestled with wrapping the wire around it until it was done. Boop!

Moonstone’s Meaning & Benefits
After completing the necklace, I looked up the meaning and benefits of moonstone. Here’s what I found: Moonstone is the stone attributed to new beginnings and fertility. It's also used for protection during childbirth/pregnancy and when traveling. Moonstone is generally known to:
Support inner self-development and growth.
Restore emotional balance and stability.
Facilitate fertility and childbirth.
Remove stress and selfishness.
Strengthen relationships and bonds.

Moonstone & The Moon
As the name suggests, moonstone has been closely associated with the Moon. If you are into using moon magic, use the stone according to the phases of the Moon.
New Moon - This moon phase signifies new beginnings and so does the moonstone itself.
Waxing crescent/gibbous Moon - ‘Waxing’ means the Moon’s illumination is growing. These moon phases signify intention and refinement, respectively. For spells of increase, use moonstone as the Moon waxes.
1st/3rd Quarter Moon - Half of the Moon is illuminated and the other half is shadowed and vise-versa. This part of the Moon’s phase signifies decision-making and forgiveness, respectively. {Idk, I'm sure there's a spell out there somewhere for that. ¯\_(^,^)_/¯}
Waning gibbous/crescent Moon - ‘Waning’ refers to the decreasing of the Moon’s illumination. This moon phase signifies gratitude and surrender, respectively. For spells of decrease, use moonstone as the Moon wanes.
Full Moon - This moon phase signifies release and sealing of intention. Moonstone is said to be most powerful during nights of a full moon. For spells of releasing what no longer serves you, use moonstone when the Moon is fully illuminated. Setting it in soil outdoors under the full moon not only cleanses the stone, but some also believe moonstone increases their garden’s yield and fertility. {I'll try this when I have a yard big enough for a garden.~}

Connecting With Moonstone
After finding out about all of the amazing benefits of moonstone, the excitement of choosing one for myself washed over me like goose-bumpy tingles. I wasn’t drawn to any of the stones in particular. They all looked pretty to me. Unable to decide which one to keep, I let one choose me. My method of doing this is to hold each moonstone in the palm of my hand. One by one until I felt something different. And it happened! Emanating from one of the stones was a low-vibrating sensation and warmth. The other moonstones felt cold to the touch. However, this little cutie made the cut.

Moonstone is one of my favorite gems so far. Mine got me through the emotional ups and downs of taking care of my Grandpa before and after his spinal surgery. Everything went well and all is good. I plan on getting other types of moonstone in the future.
